We are looking for an experienced, practical, and hands-on individual who is excited about technology and eager to join a small and growing technical team who are making a difference in the field of greenhouse gas emissions monitoring with innovative technology. You will apply your experience and develop new skills in a highly rewarding environment and help Mirico accelerate its product and service provision activities.
Experience:
10+ years in relevant industry. Startup, deep technology, combined hardware/software products, laser spectroscopy preferred. Full product development lifecycle from inception to market maturity. Design for Manufacture, Service & Support.
Supplier selection and management. Prototyping using 3D printers as well as short run parts. Testing against regulations including environmental and shipping\handling.
Experience designing and conducting sub-component and final product testing is important.
Packaging design for shipment experience desirable.
Qualifications:
BEng or Higher. Experience in CAD packages especially Solid Works.
Description:
Join a small but growing team focused on designing and manufacturing small numbers of highly sensitive laser spectroscopy instruments into harsh environments.
Products must first survive shipment to hard to reach places on the planet and then once deployed withstand and perform to a high level in wind, rain, snow, ice, fog, mist, high desert temperatures, sub zero temperatures as well as in corrosive sea side environments and of course wildlife.
Products must be cost effective to make and parts must be selected to leverage industry designed robustness as well as short lead times at low volumes.
Consideration must be given to how the instrument is installed, serviced and supported in remote hard to reach locations.
The team you will join is a mixture of mechanical, electronics, optics, firmware and software. You must be an excellent team worker and be able to communicate with the rest of the team well. As a senior engineer you will be expected to bring your past experiences to the design table and help shape the product by explaining to the team and product management why design choices are made. You are expected to critically and fairly evaluate other team members design choices to ensure they learn from your experience and the best product is delivered.
Testing is a key part of product development and you are expected to help specify, design, carry out and document tests of sub components as well as prototype and final products during the product development and beyond.
