Hiring for an Algorithm Developer
January 26, 2024
About Us
Mirico (www.mirico.co.uk) is an innovative precision gas measurement company based in Oxfordshire, leveraging unique technology originally developed by RALSpace. We provide state-of-the-art laser spectroscopy solutions to accurately quantify and localise greenhouse gas emissions over large open areas enabling organisations to achieve their net-zero climate goals.
Our Orion sensor products generate large volumes of data as they scan the environment for emissions 24 hours-per-day, 7 days a week. The measurements are processed on-board the instrument before transmission to our cloud analysis platform which leverages custom atmospheric modelling, transforming raw measurements into detailed emissions information.
Mirico believes the first step to reducing greenhouse gas emissions is to quantify them. We are working with a range of research and commercial organisations to prove, develop and perfect our technologies. We are a small, fast-paced team integrating unique hardware and software in a friendly, collaborative environment.
About the role
The Digital Team at Mirico delivers the end-to-end software solution for collecting processing and presenting gas emissions information from the Orion. We work on multiple platforms and use a wide variety of technologies to empower our customers with detailed understanding of their greenhouse gas emissions.
Your role will be to develop and maintain our custom algorithms we use to extract real-world meaning from the measurements taken by our laser spectrometer. This challenging role involves understanding our data sets, enhancing and optimising our analysis pipelines, both in the instrument and in the cloud, and working with hardware and data engineers to optimise the performance of our entire system.
About you
You’re a smart, enthusiastic professional software developer or data scientist with an excellent grasp of the algorithmic processing of data sets, a background in scientific or statistical Python and a natural focus on patterns and anomalies in data. You relish solving difficult problems and are confident working with extensive data sets using complex algorithmic code. A methodical thinker, you naturally collaborate to find the best innovative solutions validate them and present them to the team.
